If you are a student and would like to check on the status of a claim that you or a provider submitted to UnitedHealthcare, you will need to set up a My Account if you have not already done so.

Please visit our My Account center to log in to an existing account or to create a new one.

Waive Your Schools Health Insurance

Waive Your School’s Insurance

Note: For best results, please use your desktop or laptop computer. Student Center is not supported for mobile devices.

As an academic health center, Jefferson requires all matriculated students to have health insurance, and to complete the enrollment/waiver process for each academic year.* If you have health insurance through another provider, it must meet the stated minimum requirements to qualify for a waiver. If you do not have coverage through another provider that meets the minimum requirements, then you must enroll in the school-sponsored student health insurance plan. Once enrolled, the plan will be in effect for the entire academic year. You may only terminate the insurance coverage if you have a qualifying life change event.
*Dates may vary by academic program.

2014 – 2015 School Year

Annual Waiver Deadline:Â 10/1/14 In order to complete the waiver, you will need the following:

  • Your Jefferson campus key
  • Your current health insurance plan ID cardÂ
  • Your health insurance brochure or plan description.
Prior to beginning the waiver process, please check to make sure that your insurance meets the minimum requirements.
PLEASE NOTE: Once you have completed the waiver request form, a confirmation will automatically be sent to the email address you provided. The confirmation email will notify you of the status of your waiver request, with either an approved or denied status.Â

Travel Assistance, Evacuation & Repatriation

As a UnitedHealthCare member you are eligible for global emergency and medical assistance services provided by UnitedHealthCare Global. This program immediately connects you to doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, and other services if you experience a medical emergency while traveling 100 miles or more from your permanent residence, campus location, or in another country.

One simple phone call to the number on your UnitedHealthCare Global identification card will connect you to:

  • A global network of pre-qualified medical providers.
  • Experienced crisis management professionals.
  • A state-of-the-art Emergency Response Center with worldwide response capabilities.
  • Air and ground ambulance service providers.

UnitedHealthcare Global, in conjunction with First Student, provides you with a multitude of key services such as:

When calling the UnitedHealthcare Global Operations Center, please be prepared to provide:

  • 1. Callers name, telephone and (if possible) fax number, and relationship to the patient;
  • 2. Patients name, age, sex, and UnitedHealthCare Global ID Number as listed on your Medical ID Card;
  • 3. Description of the patients condition; 4. Name, location, and telephone number of hospital, if applicable;

  • 6. Information of where the physician can be immediately reached
